Beirut: The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers addressed circulating reports on Monday concerning a draft plan that purportedly aims to abolish certain public institutions, bodies, and councils. The Secretariat clarified that this draft was prepared by the previous government under former Prime Minister Najib Mikati. It has not been discussed or formally presented to the current government led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Secretariat emphasized the importance of issuing this clarification to address any misunderstandings regarding the status of the proposal. The draft in question remains just that-a draft-and has not progressed to a stage where it would be considered by Salam's administration.
