Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, emphasized the need for appointing competent individuals to positions of responsibility, irrespective of their sectarian or political backgrounds. He highlighted Lebanon's wealth of skilled professionals and stressed the importance of utilizing these competencies effectively. This statement was made during his meeting with a delegation from the General Labor Confederation, led by Dr. Bechara Al-Asmar, at the Baabda palace.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also held discussions with MP Adib Abdel Massih. Their conversation centered on Lebanon's current situation, the impact of Syrian events on the country, and the conditions in the south. They also discussed the rights of the Koura region in upcoming administrative appointments, emphasizing fair representation. MP Abdel Massih underscored the importance of conducting municipal and mayoral elections as scheduled and explored various developmental projects of national significance.
Additionally, President Aoun engaged with MP Ihab Matar, who expressed unwavering support for the President's tenure. Their dialogue covered a range of topics, including the President's recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Cairo. MP Matar also highlighted the security and developmental needs of northern Lebanon, with a particular focus on Tripoli.
Lastly, discussions with MP Wael Abou Faour revolved around the situation in the south and border developments in the north and east. President Aoun's meetings reflect his commitment to addressing regional needs and fostering inclusive development across Lebanon.
