The Youth Of Iraq In A Balanced Group In The West Asian Championship

Baghdad The draw for the West Asian Youth Championship, which will be hosted by Iraq on the 20th of this month, took place today at the headquarters of the West Asian Federation in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The Iraq group included Bahrain – Yemen – Palestine – Kuwait, while the other group included Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The matches will be held in Basra and Erbil.

Yazan al-Haddad wins silver medal at Snooker

Abu Dhabi, Syrian player ,Yazan Haddad, gained a silver medal at Arab Snooker Championship being held in the United Arab Emirates with participation of 14 Arab states.

Yazan topped his group after three successive triumphs , qualifying to the golden box after beating his Jordanian counterpart 3-0 , the Saudi player 3-0 in addition to the Iraqi counterpart 3-1.

Yazan managed to qualify to the final match after beating Suadi player ,Ayman al-Ghamedi 4-3 ,but lost to the Egyptian player ,Mina Mallak at the final.

Iraq wins membership of the West Asian Athletics Federation

Baghdad / NINA / – The Executive Director of the Central Iraqi Athletics Federation, Dr. Zaidoun Jawad, won the membership of the West Asian Federation for the second time in a row, by acclamation.

The elections of the West Asian Federation were held today in the State of Kuwait and resulted that Sayyar Saleh Al-Enezi of Kuwait won by acclamation after the withdrawal of the Lebanese Wassim Al-Holi from the candidacy for the presidency and for the position of deputy Muhammad Issa Al-Fadala from Qatar by acclamation after the withdrawal of Shaja Al-Maqdashi from Yemen and Walid Al-Rahahleh from Jordan and a member of the board of directors of the women’s quota is Fida’ Al-Tawfeek from Syria.

Membership was won by Dr. Zaidoun Jawad Muhammad from Iraq, Badr Nasser Muhammad from Bahrain, Khalfan bin Hamad Al-Waeli from Oman, Shaja Muhammad Al-Maqdashi from Yemen and Waseem Jerji Al-Holi from Lebanon, also by acclamation.

It is noteworthy that the elections were held by acclamation for all positions and membership./ End

SIMON KABBARA REAPS THIRD GOLD MEDAL AT ARAB SHORT COURSE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Lebanese delegation partaking in the Arab Short Course Swimming Championships (25 meters) currently being hosted by the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi has reaped nine medals thus far, including three golden ones.

USA-based swimmer, Simon Kabbara, has added a third golden medal to her tally after winning the 200-meter breaststroke for the 16-17-18-year-old female category, recording 2:37:75 minutes and breaking a new Arab record.

Kabbara also broke the Lebanese record previously held by Rebecca Mezher, which was 2:45:30.

Jad Ghaziri won the second place in the 200m breaststroke for the 14-15-year-old category, recording 2:24:13 minutes, and breaking his own previous Lebanese record of 2:25:31 minutes.

In the 100-meter backstroke race for the category of 14-15-year-old female.

Taline Murad won the third spot, recording 1:06:22 minutes.

Second Gold medal for swimmer Inana at Arab Championship of UAE

Abu Dhabi, Swimmer, Inana Suleiman, added the second gold medal for Syria at the Arab Swimming Championship of UAE being held with participation of 174 male and female swimmers from 16 Arab countries.

Swimmer Suleiman won her second gold at the 800m freestyle competition, with a time of 9.14.70 minutes.

Suleiman obtained a gold medal in the 1500m race on Sunday at the same tournament, and she also got another silver medal in the 400 m freestyle swimming competition.

Syrian U-23 football team lose to its Jordanian counterpart in WAFF semi-final

Riyadh, Syria’s U-23 football team lost to Jordan’s team 2-5 in the match that brought them together in the semi-final of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Championship been held in Saudi Arabia.

The Syrian team qualified to West Asian semi-finals tournament after having the best second place in the three groups, As it beat Bahraini counterpart 4-1 and lost to Saudi Arabia 0-2.

Our Olympic football team arrives in Dammam to participate in the West Asian Championship

Baghdad- The delegation of our Olympic football team arrived, this evening, Saturday, to the city of Dammam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the West Asian Federation Championship, which will start the day after tomorrow, Monday.

The team’s delegation was subjected to the bubble system in the residence hotel, awaiting the results of the Corona smear, so that the team will begin its training tomorrow, Sunday, in its first training unit, in preparation for the match with Palestinian team, the day after tomorrow, Monday, in the first group matches.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the technical conference for the second group matches will be held at (12:30) in the evening, while the joint press conference will be held at two in the evening.

It is noteworthy that our Olympic team will play in the second group of the West Asian Federation Championship, along with the teams of the Emirates, Lebanon and Palestine.

Syrian national female U-12 tennis team comes third in the West Asian tournament

Syrian female tennis team came third in West Asia U-12 Championship hosted by Jordanian capital city of Amman that is concluded today ,with participation of the teams of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Jordan.

The team comprised of Mary Abrash,Yana Azza,Jana al-Dahouk ,with the coach Yasmine Othmani.

While Junior team for boys included each of Ahmad Salim,Hussein Turkawi and Bassam Klass with the coach Imad Qanzou.

LEBANON’S MMA CHAMPIONS RETURN FROM EGYPT WITH 3 GOLD MEDALS

Lebanon’s champions returned today from Egypt after reaping 3 gold medals in MMA through Amer Abdel Nabi, Mohamed Hassoun and Abdel Rahman Kassar.

In details, Lebanese Amer Abdel Nabi (93 Kg) won in the face of Egyptian Sherif al-Masry in the first two minutes, and Mohamed Hassoun (77 Kg) and Abdel Rahman Kassar (66 Kg) won two technical strikes in the “Evolution Fighting Championship (EFC)” under the supervision of the Lebanese Federation of Mixed Martial Arts headed by Mohamed Dagher.

The participants thanked the Egyptian people for hosting them and for all those who provided them with moral and material support.

Prime Minister congratulates University of Sabratha for winning Universities Mini-Football Championship.

Tripoli, Sabratha University received congratulations from the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba for the university’s team winning the Mini- football championship.

In his congratulations, Prime Minister expressed his best wishes for Sabratha University for further progress and development in all fields.
