Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed his country's hope that China and the United States can find the right path for coexistence between two global powers.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, during a meeting with Harvard University professor of international relations Graham Allison in Beijing on Wednesday, Wang stressed the importance of rebuilding trust and establishing bilateral relations on a firm and stable foundation. The official website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry quoted Wang as saying, "Addressing the fundamental imbalance in mutual understanding between the two sides is a necessary first step." He emphasized that "correctly connecting the first button" in China-US relations is key to developing a positive path for future cooperation.
Wang also emphasized that "China adheres to three fundamental principles in its relations with the United States: mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and mutually beneficial cooperation," stressing "the importance of building a new narrative that governs interaction and exchange between the two global powers in the coming period."
