Riyadh: The eighth edition of the Future of Investment Initiative (FII) conference commenced in Riyadh on Tuesday, focusing on the theme "Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow". The event, which is a major platform for discussing global economic trends, sees participation from influential global leaders and industry experts. According to Kuwait News Agency, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's Representative, Minister of Finance, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Acting Minister of Oil Nora Al-Fassam is participating in the conference. The event is an important avenue for Kuwait to engage in discussions on economic diversification and investment strategies. In his keynote speech, Governor of the Saudi Public Investment Fund Yasir Al-Rumayyan highlighted the fund's achievements, noting that it has established more than 92 companies investing in promising sectors. He mentioned that over the past seven years, the FII has facilitated deals valu ed at more than USD 125 billion. Al-Rumayyan expressed optimism that nascent market economies are expected to surpass developed ones by 2030. The eighth FII conference centers on developing new strategies to address global challenges, the role of Africa in the world economy, and the involvement of women in leadership positions, internal structures, and practical investment. The conference is under the patronage of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Kingdom's economy away from reliance on oil. The event has drawn over 5,000 participants from about 90 countries, including heads of state, government officials, and leading business figures worldwide.
