Kuwait Crude Oil Prices Rise Amid Falling Global Benchmarks

Kuwait city: Kuwait crude oil prices increased by USD 1.52 on Wednesday, reaching USD 75.19 per barrel, according to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). This rise contrasts with declines in global benchmarks, as Brent crude futures fell by USD 1.08 to USD 74.96 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) decreased by 97 cents to USD 70.77 per barrel. According to Kuwait News Agency, the fluctuations in oil prices followed data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration indicating a rise in crude oil stocks by 5.5 million barrels, resulting in a total of 426 million barrels last week. The increase in inventories generally exerts downward pressure on oil prices, which may explain the decline in Brent and WTI prices. However, Kuwait's crude managed to gain, suggesting localized factors influencing its pricing.
