Kuwaiti Crude Oil Prices Experience Significant Drop

Kuwait: The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced that the price of Kuwaiti crude oil has fallen by USD 3.34, settling at USD 74.46 per barrel on Tuesday, a decrease from Monday's USD 77.80 per barrel. According to Kuwait News Agency, the drop in oil prices was mirrored in global markets where Brent crude futures also saw a reduction, falling by USD 3.21 to USD 74.25 per barrel. Similarly, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures decreased by USD 3.25 to USD 70.58 per barrel. This downward trend in oil prices comes amid various global economic pressures and market dynamics. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) highlighted in its monthly report that the demand for oil from OPEC+ members is expected to decrease. The forecast for the current month has been revised downward by 200,000 barrels per day to 43.2 million barrels per day, which is still 500,000 barrels per day higher than the projections for 2024. Additionally, OPEC adjusted its 2024 demand forecast for OPEC+ crude d ownward by 100,000 barrels per day from last month's predictions, now estimating it at 42.8 million barrels per day, an increase of 600,000 barrels per day over the 2023 forecast. Further impacting the oil markets, official data from China indicated a decline in the country's crude oil imports. Over the first nine months of the year, imports averaged 10.99 million barrels per day, marking a roughly three percent decrease from last year's figures.
