Lebanon’s President Praises Antonine Maronite Order on St. Anthony’s Feast

Hadath: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, praised the Antonine Maronite Order, saying it follows the path of its patron Saint Anthony the Great, "father of monks," and commended its devoted work in serving both God and humanity.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun highlighted the Order's spiritual and cultural role, describing its monasteries as beacons of knowledge and prayer, and its schools as institutions that have become centers of education and upbringing. He noted that these establishments have produced generations of scholars and educators who "illuminated Lebanon's path during its darkest times."

The president made these remarks during a celebration held at St. Anthony the Great Monastery in Hadath, Baabda, marking the feast of the Saint. The event included a festive Mass led by the Order's Superior General, Father Joseph Bou Raad, assisted by Father Michel Khoury, Father Fadi Touq, who is the head of the monastery and Antonine institute, along with the monastery choir.
