Macron: French-UK Mission ‘Ready’ to Aid Hormuz Reopening

Paris: France's president on Monday announced that a military mission jointly established by Paris and Britain to assist with Strait of Hormuz traffic is prepared for deployment. This announcement follows the declaration of a deal designed to conclude the ongoing Middle East conflict.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the statement came after both Washington and Tehran declared that they had reached an agreement to end the conflict initiated by the US and Israel against Iran in February. The agreement is scheduled to be officially signed on Friday in Switzerland.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump for a G7 meeting later on Monday, confirmed that the UK-France mission's resources "are in place and ready to be deployed." He emphasized the importance of resuming maritime traffic without restrictions or tolls as a critical factor for ensuring regional stability and supporting the global economy. Macron shared these remarks in a post on X.
