Beirut: Minister of State for Administrative Development, Fadi Makki, met with the president of the Higher Customs Council, Brigadier General Misbah Khalil, to discuss enhancing cooperation on customs digitization, capacity building, and the simplification and modernization of procedures.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting included a tour of the Behavioral Insights and Digital Transformation Lab (BIND-Leb), where the officials reviewed methods to redesign public services using behavioral sciences and design thinking. The lab team presented several potential joint projects with customs authorities, with both sides identifying key initiatives aimed at modernizing public administration and simplifying citizens' interaction with state services.
Both parties agreed to commence work on the proposed initiatives as soon as possible, signaling a commitment to advancing the digitization of customs and administrative reforms.
