Pope Leo Calls on Lebanon’s Youth to Embrace Kindness and Shape the Future

Bkirki: Addressing the youth crowd gathering in Bkirki's squares this evening, Pope Leo XIV began by saying in Arabic, "Peace be with you." He continued, "I thank you all for this welcome, and I thank Patriarch al-Rahi for his eloquent words. I also greet the young people hailing from across Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Pope remarked on the hope and kindness inherent in the testimonies he heard, despite the difficulties faced by Lebanese youth. He acknowledged Lebanon's history of achievements and distinction, while also recognizing the deep wounds that are challenging to heal.

Pope Leo XIV encouraged the youth by affirming that the future is in their hands, presenting them with a historic opportunity to effect change. He highlighted that kindness and devotion possess the power to heal all wounds.

The Pope emphasized that Lebanon will regain its youth, symbolizing unity and fertility among its people. He noted that peace cannot be complete if it serves only the interests of a few individuals, stressing that there is no peace without justice and no justice without forgiveness.
