President Aoun Commends Sacrifice of Army Martyrs Following Ammunition Explosion Incident

Tyre: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, made a phone call to Army Chief, General Rodolphe Heikal, who briefed him on the circumstances surrounding a tragic incident in Majdal Zoun - Wadi Zebqin area in Tyre District. The incident involved an explosion of ammunition faced by a unit of the Army Engineering Regiment, resulting in the loss of several military personnel and injuries.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of the soldiers, extending his condolences to their families and the army. He wished those injured a swift recovery. The President emphasized the sacrifice made by the soldiers in defending Lebanon's land and sovereignty. He highlighted that the martyrs' actions demonstrated the army's role as the nation's shield and guardian of its borders.

President Aoun paid tribute to the spirit of sacrifice and loyalty exemplified by the martyrs, acknowledging their contribution to the security and stability of Lebanon. He remarked that their martyrdom serves as a beacon of hope for future generations, reminding them of the sacrifices necessary to preserve the nation's freedom.
