Beirut: President of the Lebanese Republic, Joseph Aoun, congratulated the Lebanese people, both residents and expatriates, on the centenary of the proclamation of the Lebanese Constitution and the Lebanese Republic (May 23, 1926), which falls today.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun emphasized the significance of this milestone by declaring the current year as the Year of the Constitution. He highlighted the importance of reviving the meanings of Lebanon's message and identity, along with the values of democracy and human rights, in a nation characterized by its diversity and creativity.
President Aoun also reaffirmed the need to organize intellectual activities aimed at renewing the constitutional spirit. He stressed the importance of deepening national awareness and establishing modernity as an approach in the country's laws and public policies.
