Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received a phone call this afternoon from the Secretary General of the Organization of La Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo, who expressed her solidarity with Lebanon in the current circumstances it is going through, and with the suffering of the Lebanese people, especially the families displaced from their villages and towns targeted by Israeli shelling.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Secretary-General said she had briefed member states of the organization on the repercussions of the military escalation and urged them to provide urgent humanitarian and medical assistance to aid those affected and displaced, expressing her hope to visit Beirut to reaffirm her support for the Lebanese people.
President Aoun thanked Mushikiwabo for her compassion, explaining to her the current situation and the efforts being made by the Lebanese state to put an end to the escalation and achieve a ceasefire, considering the solidarity of the Francophone countries as a message of hope for the Lebanese.
