Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday afternoon engaged in discussions at Baabda Palace with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa. The meeting addressed the situation in Lebanon and the broader region, as well as the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Egypt and potential avenues for their development.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also met with 'Democratic Gathering' bloc MP Akram Chehayeb. Following their discussion, Chehayeb noted that they talked about the general situation in the country and specific issues related to the Mountain region. Additionally, President Aoun held talks with Democratic Gathering bloc MP Wael Abu Faour, focusing on the country's situation, especially in light of the recent visit by US Deputy Special Envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus.
Furthermore, President Aoun received a delegation from the family of the late Minister and MP Jean Obeid. The delegation extended an invitation to Aoun to attend an event at the UNESCO Palace on May 29, celebrating the publication of a book documenting the life of the late Minister. The occasion will feature speeches from official and political figures.
Among the visitors to Baabda Palace today were former Minister and former MP Nehme Tohme and his wife, Therese Attieh Tohme.
