Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held a series of meetings at Baabda Palace, engaging with various national and international figures. The engagements focused on the country's general situation, international relations, and tourism development.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun first welcomed Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze Community, Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, accompanied by Judge Sheikh Ghandi Makarem. The discussions revolved around the national situation, the President's foreign visits, particularly to Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the efforts to bolster national spiritual partnerships. Sheikh Akl Al-Muna invited President Aoun to a national cultural symposium on 'National Spiritual Partnership: An Umbrella for Reform and Salvation,' organized by the Cultural Society of Aley, to be held in Chanay.
In another significant engagement, President Aoun met with Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jesºs Santos Aguado. The ambassador conveyed a message from King Felipe VI, inviting President Aoun to the 4th United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, scheduled from June 30 to July 3.
Additionally, President Aoun conferred with Tourism Minister Laura Khazen Lahoud, who updated him on the ministry's initiatives aimed at boosting the tourism sector as the summer season approaches. Minister Lahoud emphasized the ministry's readiness to support the influx of tourists through a strategic working mechanism designed to ensure a prosperous tourist season.
Lastly, President Aoun engaged in discussions with MP Sami Gemayel, leader of the Kataeb Party, focusing on the current political climate, including the municipal and mayoral elections. President Aoun also received Judge George Attieh, head of the Central Inspection, who provided insights into the diverse activities and functions of the Central Inspection.
