Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Tuesday took part in the 'Rebuilding Lebanon: Investment Framework, Business Opportunities and Dispute Resolution' conference, organized by the Lebanon Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rasamny delivered remarks during a panel session titled 'Investment and Growth Drivers in Lebanon's Key Economic Sectors', where he outlined the strategic orientations of his ministry. Rasamny also joined a roundtable discussion within LEAP (Lebanon Economic Acceleration Program), hosted by the Lebanese Institute for Market Studies (LIMS), dedicated to the upcoming Lebanon Emergency Assistance Project.
This initiative, set to be launched by the Council for Development and Reconstruction with World Bank funding, aims to restore basic public services and support recovery and reconstruction in affected regions. The project's estimated budget is $1 billion, including a $250 million loan agreement expected to be signed soon with the World Bank. The government is also seeking to mobilize an additional $750 million from international donors.
Separately, Rasamny met with MP Dr. Abdel Rahman Bizri at his office, with whom he discussed key development projects for the city of Sidon and the South, reaffirming their joint commitment to accelerating implementation and delivering tangible results.
