Beirut: The Syndicate of Restaurant, Caf©, Nightclub, and Patisserie Owners in Lebanon has strongly rejected a recent circular issued by the Tourism Minister. The circular mandates that all prices be listed exclusively in Lebanese pounds. The syndicate contends that this requirement violates existing laws, exceeds the minister’s authority, and poses challenges for businesses amid ongoing currency instability.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the syndicate has called for an immediate reversal of this decision and urged a return to the previous regulations that allowed pricing in US dollars. The syndicate argues that the ability to price in a stable foreign currency is essential for the sustainability of businesses in the current economic climate.
