ANKARA: Turkiye and Iran have jointly called for an immediate cessation of Israeli military operations, warning of the potential for a full-scale war in the already volatile Middle East region. According to Kuwait News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the need for Israel to restrain its actions and rhetoric, which he stated are clear violations of international law. Speaking at a news conference alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Fidan reiterated previous warnings about the risk of an expanded conflict in the region. He stressed that Turkiye does not seek war and urged for sensible and calm measures, including an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to alleviate current tensions. Fidan also highlighted the urgent need for increased humanitarian assistance to Gaza, disclosing that Ankara has already sent 84,000 tons of relief supplies to the besieged area. This move underscores Turkiye's commitment to providing aid amid the ongoing crisis. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi echo ed these sentiments, stating that Iran is prepared for "all scenarios" in response to what he described as "hostile actions by the Zionist regime." He accused Tel Aviv of inciting a broader conflict through its military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, further escalating the potential for widespread warfare in the Middle East.
