Abu dhabi: The UAE has declared the withdrawal of all remaining counter-terrorism teams from Yemen, following a Saudi strike that targeted armored vehicles belonging to its forces in the southern port of Mukalla.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the UAE had previously ended its military involvement in the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen in 2019. However, it had maintained a small number of specialized teams focused on counterterrorism initiatives.
An official statement from the UAE's Ministry of Defence highlighted the decision, citing recent developments and their potential impact on the safety and effectiveness of the missions. The statement emphasized that the withdrawal is being conducted voluntarily, ensuring the safety of personnel and in coordination with relevant partners.
