DUBAI: The UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation has unveiled plans for the upcoming UAE Open Muay Thai Championship, scheduled to take place from October 25 to October 27 at the Festival Arena in Dubai. The event is set to draw participants from across the globe, offering a platform for both male and female athletes. According to Emirates News Agency, the championship will accommodate athletes aged 16 to 40, with competitors from both the UAE and international locations expected to participate. The event is structured across multiple age and weight categories, including 12 weight divisions for the age group of 16-17, 10 weight classes for those under 23, and 13 categories for senior participants. Registration for the event remains open until October 20 through the Federation's official channels. The competitive action will kick off with preliminary rounds on October 25, followed by semi-finals on October 26, and culminating with the finals on October 27. Ali Khouri, Executive Director and Board Member o f the Federation, emphasized the significance of the championship, stating, "The UAE Open Muay Thai Championship for Men and Women is a pivotal event for clubs and athletes, both in the UAE and internationally. It underscores our continuous efforts to grow the sport and create meaningful opportunities for athletes to gain valuable experience."
