Union Association for Human Rights Showcases UAE’s Humanitarian Efforts at AidEx in Geneva

GENEVA: The Union Association for Human Rights (UAHR) took part in the AidEx 2024 conference in Geneva, Switzerland, where it highlighted the United Arab Emirates' extensive humanitarian and relief efforts in conflict-affected regions worldwide. The two-day event, co-located with Development2030, brought together international development actors focusing on sustainable development goals. According to Emirates News Agency, AidEx 2024 featured cutting-edge technologies, relief programs, and global humanitarian support strategies, alongside high-level panels and workshops aimed at ensuring the safe delivery of aid in conflict zones. The UAHR used this platform to underscore the UAE's significant contributions, presenting Dubai International Humanitarian City (IHC) as a central hub for humanitarian operations, which provides vital logistics services for international relief efforts. The UAHR delegation, led by Vice President Maryam Al Ahmadi, showcased several key UAE initiatives, including "Operation Chivalrou s Knight 3" in Gaza, which was recognized by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). In 2024, the UAE was ranked first in the Arab world and second globally for its humanitarian aid to Gaza. The association also highlighted efforts in Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Lebanon. The participation of the UAHR in AidEx supports efforts to build partnerships with civil society organizations in the global development sector, reinforcing the UAE's leadership role in humanitarian aid and its contribution to sustainable development across various communities.
