Egyptian Foreign Minister Condemns Israeli Policies in Phone Call with Japanese Counterpart

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has reiterated his country's strong opposition to what he described as Israeli occupation's escalatory policies. This includes specific concerns over the impact of these policies on regional security and stability, as well as the ongoing aggression towards Lebanon. According to Kuwait News Agency, Abdelatty expressed these views during a phone conversation with his Japanese counterpart, Iwaya Takeshi. The discussion was reported by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Tamim Khalaf, who highlighted the gravity of the situation and the potential for regional security destabilization. Abdelatty emphasized that the Israeli actions could lead to serious ramifications, not only exacerbating the conflict in Lebanon but also risking wider regional conflict spillover. The Foreign Minister also discussed Egypt's active role in seeking resolutions to the ongoing conflicts in the region. He outlined Cairo's efforts to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, facilitate t he release of prisoners, and address the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people. Over the past year, these issues have been a focal point of Egypt's diplomatic endeavors. Furthermore, Abdelatty detailed Egypt's intensive diplomatic engagement with various political factions in Lebanon. These efforts aim to mitigate regional escalations and resolve the prolonged presidential vacuum in Lebanon, which is a critical part of ensuring stability in the region.
