Beirut: Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar announced Sunday that a total of 195 complaints had been registered so far in various districts of Mount Lebanon, as municipal and mukhtar elections are underway.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al-Hajjar made these statements after casting his vote in his town, Chehime. He emphasized that the new presidency is committed to respecting constitutional deadlines and laws, as well as renewing municipal and developmental work. He assured that he has not and will not interfere in the elections in Chehime, expressing confidence that the residents will choose representatives who genuinely represent them.
Al-Hajjar also noted the security challenges Lebanon is currently facing, particularly in the south. He mentioned that diplomatic contacts have been made through the Ceasefire Committee, while affirming that the Lebanese state provides guarantees to its citizens.
