Beirut: The Orthodox Gathering organized a solidarity event at Le Gabriel Hotel in Ashrafieh for the victims of the Mar Elias Greek Orthodox Church massacre in Damascus. This event highlighted the ongoing support and remembrance for those affected by the tragic incident.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the day was marked by several significant events, including a book launch by Dr. Joseph Youssef Tamer at Wisdom University, where he introduced his latest work, *'A Nation and Its Lost People'*. The book launch took place in the university's Lecture Hall in Furn El Chebbak.
The Qartaba Festival Committee 2025 held a press conference at Jeita Country Club. The event was led by Chairman Lawyer Simon Karam and coincided with Al-Khiam Center's 40th-anniversary celebration of advocacy for detainees and human rights, which was held at Al-Jisr Pool in Damour, under the patronage of former Arab Lawyers Union Secretary-General Omar Zain.
The Higher Islamic Shiite Council began Ashura commemorations at their headquarters on Airport Road, led by Vice President Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib. Meanwhile, Saint George University in Beirut hosted a graduation ceremony for its Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Our Lady of the Annunciation Orthodox School, under the patronage of Metropolitan Elias Audeh.
Later in the evening, Culture Minister Dr. Ghassan Salam© delivered a lecture in French titled 'Le Liban: Identit© et m©tamorphose r©gionale'. This event was hosted by the Armenian Catholic Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator and St. Elias at the Boghossian Hall in Debbas Square.
A 'Women of Worth' dinner was hosted by L'Or©al Paris at the Sursock Palace Gardens. In addition, a tribute dinner honored Judge Ayman Oueidat for his appointment as President of the Judicial Inspection Authority, organized by the USJ Faculty of Law Alumni Association at ATCL in Kaslik.
The day concluded with an annual dinner by the Pastoral Office for Persons with Disabilities in the Maronite Patriarchal Diocese. This event took place at Le Royal Hotel in Dbayeh, under the patronage of Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi.
