Beirut: Under the chairmanship of MP Ibrahim Kanaan, a session of the Finance and Budget Committee convened on Tuesday to discuss the appropriations of several public institutions. The meeting aimed to evaluate the financial needs and allocations for various agencies, including the National Human Rights Commission, the National Commission for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared, and the Economic and Social Council.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the committee also examined the budgets for the State Employees Cooperative, the National Council for Scientific Research, and the Alissar Foundation. These discussions are crucial for ensuring that each institution is adequately funded to perform its duties effectively.
Additionally, the Higher Council for Privatization, the National Archives Foundation, and the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon were part of the agenda. The committee aims to align financial resources with the strategic objectives of these entities.
Other institutions that were under review included the General Authority for the Special Economic Zone in Tripoli, the National Institute of Administration, the National Council for Road Safety, and the Public Corporation for Consumer Markets. The committee is tasked with ensuring transparency and accountability in the allocation of funds to these public bodies.
