WASHINGTON: Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), took part in a significant panel discussion on "Cooperation and Integration in Sustainable Development" during the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. This event, orchestrated by the Gulf Cooperation Council's General Secretariat in collaboration with the World Bank, was held in Washington, D.C. According to Emirates News Agency, the session convened heads and representatives from various Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) development funds to deliberate on the role of Gulf development institutions, banks, and funds in steering sustainable futures for developing nations. The discourse underscored the global and regional impact of GCC development institutions and explored strategies to amplify the effectiveness of development assistance from Gulf countries worldwide. Al Suwaidi emphasized ADFD's dedication to advancing international cooperation aimed at achieving global dev elopment goals. He noted the significance of forging strategic alliances with international development bodies to bolster sustainable development efforts. Al Suwaidi highlighted that through its projects and initiatives, ADFD seeks to stimulate economic growth in developing countries, contributing to the creation of prosperous and resilient societies. The panel addressed critical themes, including the need for coordinated efforts to boost regional integration and deliver effective support to essential sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
