Chief of Staff witnesses practical drill by central military zone troops

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Osama Askar attended Sunday a practical drill showing tactics and skills of a unit of the Central Military Zone.

The troops used advanced methods as part of a combat training plan designed for units of the Armed Forces.

Commander of the Central Military Zone Maj. Gen. Tareq el Shazly said in a speech that the Armed Forces are keen on upgrading and advancing all combat training methods to guarantee the troops are able to conduct all assigned missions.

Askar, for his part, conveyed best regards of Defense Minister Ahmed Zaki to all troops taking part in the exercise.

He praised the upscale performance and had a discussion with some of the commanders and officers about the drill.

The chief of staff also inspected an industrial complex, including a hangar for repairing tanks and some maintenance workshops.
