Egypt to witness 2 remarkable astronomical phenomena Thursday


Egypt will witness on Thursday two remarkable astronomical phenomena that could be noticed in a clear weather, with no clouds or water vapor in the sky, said Professor of Astronomy at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) Ashraf Tadros on Saturday 17/02/2024.

Tadros, in statements to MENA, said the first phenomenon is the Beehive Cluster, which is also known as M44, a captivating open star cluster located in the constellation Cancer.

He added that the Beehive may be rarely observed by naked eye, however, using a telescope is recommended for spotting it throughout the night till 5:00 am.

The second phenomenon will witness a conjunction between Venus, the brightest planet, and Mars, the Red Planet, at 5:20 am.
