Khalid bin Hamad congratulates Muharraq on qualifying for semi final

Manama, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended on Monday the football match between Muharraq Club and Al Ahad Club of Lebanon.

 

The match, which ended with Muharraq’s 3-0 victory, was held on the grounds of the Late Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa pitch in Muharraq Cultural and Sports Club, and it came as part of the quarter-finals of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.

 

It was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of Bahrain Football Association, His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, President of Muharraq Club, His Excellency Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority and His Excellency Mr. Hashim Haidar, President of the Lebanese Football Association.

 

On the occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid praised the good performance shown by the players in the match, reflecting the team’s readiness for the match. His Highness also congratulated the team for winning the match and qualifying for the semi-finals of the AFC Cup, wishing them the best of luck in their future matches.

 

HH Shaikh Khalid also thanked the fans and spectators for their keenness to attend at the stadium and support the Club in such an important match, while adhering to the precautionary measures to combatCOVID-19.

 

“Our support is continuing for all national teams and clubs in their participation in various sports tournaments and forums, in order to present honourable levels and promote the Kingdom in a way that enhances the Bahraini presence regionally, continentally, and internationally, and to compete to achieve more distinguished results to be added to the Bahraini sports record,” HH Shaikh Khalid added.
