Morcos Holds Meetings with Union of Arab Banks and Bids Farewell to French Ambassador

Beirut: Minister of Information, Attorney Paul Morcos, engaged in significant meetings on Monday, hosting the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks, Dr. Wissam Fattouh, and receiving the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Herv© Magro, for a farewell visit.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dr. Wissam Fattouh extended an invitation to Minister Morcos to attend the 'Arab Regional Conference on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing,' scheduled for 11 August under the Prime Minister's patronage. Fattouh also sought Morcos' patronage for the upcoming 'Arab Conference on Economic Journalism' in Beirut, which aims to gather over 100 Arab journalists for discussions and training on economic journalism's impact on the Lebanese and Arab banking sectors.

Fattouh emphasized the importance of cooperation between economic sectors and media. He revealed the Union's plans to support the National News Agency and Ministry of Information with modern technologies during the conference. This initiative aligns with Minister Morcos' efforts to enhance national media infrastructure, including the NNA and Tele Liban.

In a separate meeting, Morcos welcomed French Ambassador Herv© Magro, acknowledging his diplomatic contributions to Lebanon as he prepares to conclude his mission.

Additionally, a delegation from "Maharat" Foundation was among Minister Morcos' visitors, indicating a day filled with diverse engagements aimed at fostering collaboration and development in various sectors.
