In a statement issued by Oman’s Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate has expressed its strong condemnation of the burning of a copy of the Holy Qur’an by extremists in Sweden.
The statement condemns such provocative actions against the feelings and sanctities of Muslims and the incitement to violence and hatred.
The Sultanate of Oman stressed the need for concerted international efforts to consolidate the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect and to criminalise all acts that promote the ideology of extremism and hatred and offend religions and beliefs.
