ABU DHABI: Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy, has awarded Huda Alkhamis, the Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, the ‘Grande Ufficiale’ (Grand Officer) of the ‘Ordine della Stella d’Italia’ (Order of the Star of Italy) in recognition of her significant cultural achievements.
In a ceremony attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Lorenzo Fanara, the Italian Ambassador to the UAE, presented the Order of Merit to Alkhamis in recognition of her outstanding cultural achievements and her role in strengthening cultural ties between the two friendly nations.
Alkhamis expressed her sincere gratitude for being bestowed with the prestigious Order of Merit by the President of Italy: “We reaffirm our commitment to the UAE’s unwavering approach of forging bridges of cooperation with nations worldwide that share our vision of building a brighter future for generations to come.”

‘Alkhamis has played a pivotal role in promoting Italian culture and art in the UAE, through the remarkable participation of Italian musicians and stars in successive editions of the Abu Dhabi Festival.’
