According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the prime minister, after his meeting on Wednesday, expressed pride in the government's achievements, particularly highlighting the appointments mechanism and expedited efforts on draft reform laws. He noted that the government is currently focused on the draft law for banking sector reform, underscoring its importance.
Prime Minister Salam further informed the Patriarch about his discussions with Ortagus, emphasizing the government's commitment to holding the municipal elections on schedule. He stressed that the elections in Beirut should reflect Lebanon's image in terms of parity and diversity. Addressing concerns about maintaining balance in the Beirut Municipality, Salam shared various ideas discussed with Speaker Berri, including the possibility of adopting closed lists to ensure fair representation.
