Rasamny from Beirut Port: Security is Firmly Under Control

Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Wednesday affirmed from Beirut Port that security at the port was firmly under control.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rasamny declared a zero-tolerance policy towards any media remarks that cast doubt on the port's security. The Minister emphasized that operations at the port would be conducted with the same determination as at the airport, citing enhanced and tightened surveillance measures now in place.

Rasamny stated that questioning the port's operational capacity would not be permitted, nor would the ministry accept unsubstantiated statements made in the previous day. He urged those with concerns to provide concrete evidence, highlighting the importance of security as a top priority.

The Minister also stressed the need to assess the legal status of the port and its board of directors. He mentioned plans to revisit, amend, and activate relevant laws, with the temporary committee tasked to brief him on matters requiring action for development.
