Samir, Dior head discuss future plans in Egypt

The meeting has attended focused on Dior’s plans to start its activities in Egypt by Q4 of 2024.

Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has received Jérôme Baudy, president of Christian Dior Couture Europe and Middle East, where they discussed its potential projects in the domestic market.

The meeting, also attended by Middle East General Manager Pierre de Maigret, focused on Dior’s plans to start its activities in Egypt by the fourth quarter of 2024, establishing numerous retail outlets.

“We are committed to offering all support to Dior and eliminating possible obstacles in the market,” Samir said, pointed out that the government has taken various measures to streamline customs clearance procedures.

The minister further added that the France-based company could manufacture some of its products here and well benefit from the home market advantages, including: skillful labor, and abundant, low-cost energy resources.
