Sleiman Urges Citizens to Embrace Reform Through Voting

Beirut: Former President Michel Sleiman issued a statement this morning emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in the municipal and mayoral council elections. "Today is the citizen's opportunity to launch a real reform process by voting for municipal and mayoral councils, paving the way for the adoption of decentralization based on the people being the source of authority," Sleiman declared, highlighting the critical role of voters in shaping the future of governance.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sleiman stressed the duty of accountability and change, urging voters to make informed decisions while casting their votes. He encouraged citizens to approach the elections with a mindset geared toward progress and reform. "The opportunity is ripe at the national level and with the new mandate...Let us seize the winds of change and think before we vote," he stated.

Sleiman concluded his message by expressing confidence in the Lebanese people's ability to foster national growth and recovery, drawing parallels to their contributions to the diaspora and the Gulf states. "The Lebanese people who have contributed to the advancement of the diaspora in general and the Gulf states in particular, will ensure the rise and rescue of the nation...Today is the beginning," he affirmed.
