SOLIDARITY LUNCH IN NATION STATION IN GEITAWI

The Italian Embassy in Lebanon issued the following press release: “Within the annual week dedicated to Italian cuisine in the world, the Italian Embassy in Beirut organizes once again a solidarity event in partnership with “Nation Station”, an organization born after the explosion at the port in 2020 with the aim of assisting the vulnerable people of Geitawi. On November 20, simple traditional Italian recipes are prepared and offered for free for the residents of the neighborhood.

The Italian gastronomic tradition, whose excellence is based on simple and genuine ingredients, does not in fact represent a luxury for the few, but a powerful tool to encourage the creation of networks and mechanisms of solidarity, sharing and conviviality.

This year again, through its renewed initiative, the Italian Embassy intends to keep on its awareness-raising action aimed at reaffirming the importance of fighting food insecurity and promoting sustainable and environment-friendly agro-industrial models.

In Parallel, Nation Station is hosting the exhibition “gli Eroi del Cibo” (Heros of Food). A visual storytelling featuring five Sea and Land protagonists, shedding light – through food – on the values of sustainability, craftsmanship and quality as well as on the traditions, the culture and the environment of a piece of Italy.”
