The two-day “Kuwait in Egypt” event is witnessing the participation of over 60 major Egyptian and Kuwaiti companies.

Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has inaugurated, on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the 13th Kuwait Week, organized by the Kuwaiti embassy in Cairo and Jabriya Exhibition Group.

The two-day event, held under the theme “Kuwait in Egypt”, is witnessing the participation of more than 60 major Egyptian and Kuwaiti companies. The opening ceremony was also attended by ministers of supply, finance, civil aviation, immigration and public business sector.

“Egypt and Kuwait enjoy longstanding strategic relations, based on mutual understanding and consensus of vision between the two nations on various regional and international issues,” Samir said.

The expo, he added, is a principal economic bridge that helps boost bilateral cooperation, stressing keenness of both governments on tapping the full potential of their respective markets to serve the interests of both Egyptian and Kuwaiti peoples.

Egypt-Kuwait trade hit around $306 million in 2022, up 21.4% from a year earlier, and amounted to $401 million in the first 11 months of 2022, the minister further pointed out.
