Workshop on “The biological testing of lipo-polyplex formulations for gene therapy co-delivering both DNA and siRNA for the possible treatment of breast cancer”

Miss Mariya Aziz Al-Rashdi , Pharmacovigilance specialist- Julphar pharmaceutical company, presented a workshop in continuing education and training entitled ” The biological testing of lipo-polyplex formulations for gene therapy co-delivering both DNA and siRNA for the possible treatment of breast cancer “, The workshop was organized by the Department of pharmacy – HCT on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

The workshop targeted staff in college of Applied Science and P-harmacy. The workshop was attended by 18 participants.

The workshop summarize The study tested the hypothesis that the co-delivery of siRNA and DNA would produce a synergistic effect whereby the DNA would produce a protein to flag the cell to the immune system, and siRNA would inhibit target gene expression. This was accomplished by complexing DNA and siRNA with lipids and peptides, delivered in a lipopolyplex.
